The Alaskan Photo Safari provides exceptional, often unique, opportunities for you to create images of towering waterfalls, numerous species of wildlife, glacial activity, remnants of early Alaskan culture, and scenery only visible to the fortunate few photographers who get to travel along coastal Southeast Alaska. This photo safari offers several features that set it apart from others offering coastline photo opportunities.

Travel Accommodations

You will travel in modest luxury aboard the Home Shore, a authentic 62 foot commercial fishing vessel fitted with state rooms and a gourmet galley (kitchen). The Home Shore, owned and captained by Jim Kyle, has provided guided tours of South East Alaska since 1997. An ideal base for the expedition, it provides 360 degree views from its sheltered wheel house and stable shooting platforms along its deck. Capable of holding close to the shore line, you will be able to safely create close-up images of whales, feeding eagles and brown bears. It also carries kayaks and a motor launch for excursions into backwaters and to onshore visits of remains of early settlements.

What could be better? To have your own gourmet cook on board, of course. The personable, witty, effervescent Erin serves up succulent culinary treats to feed your creative soul. Your fare includes the photo workshop tuition, travel on the Shore Home, meals, beverages, lodging on the Home Shore and transportation to and from Sitka airport. There are no additional charges. You are responsible for purchasing film, film processing and travel to and from Sitka.
